Desktop Emergency Alerts - Alertus - UNL Mass Communications and Emergency Notifications

UNL Alert notifications are available via the Alertus app to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln community.

Benefits & Features

The Alertus app extends UNL Alerts to desktops, giving University Police the capability to provide safety instructions quickly and directly to faculty, staff and students.

When a UNL Alert is active, the Alertus app will pop up a full screen notification on computers when they are  connected to the university network. The pop up notification can be dismissed by clicking the green "Dismiss" button on the bottom of the notification.

Getting Started

The Alertus app is installed on all general purpose classroom, lab and loaner computers managed by ITS. Alertus is also available for installation through Self Service or Software Center on managed endpoints. To install the Alertus app manually, use the download links on this page.

For questions about large-scale deployment of the Alertus app, please contact Endpoint Managment.

For questions or concerns about the Alertus service, please contact Mark Robertson, Emergency Management Coordinator, University Police.
